HRCI Offers New Certifications - HRBP and HRMP

    September 20, 2012

As the HR Certification Institute continues its mission to serve the global Human Resources profession, we are pleased to officially announce the launch of two new credentials developed for HR professionals principally practicing outside of the United States. The Human Resource Business Professional (HRBP℠) and Human Resource Management Professional (HRMP℠) will complement the certifications of our existing portfolio and further enhance our support of the expanding global reach of the HR profession.

Both credentials were developed to validate core human resource knowledge and skills in addition to demonstrated mastery of generally accepted HR principles, independent of geographic region, by professionals practicing HR outside of the United States. In May, we successfully conducted Pilot examinations for these new certifications in nearly 70 locations across 50 countries.  We are delighted to officially welcome to our certified community 573 new credential holders who were successful on the pilot exams

The HRMP (Strategic) and HRBP (Operational) comprise our suite of credential offerings recommended for HR professionals based outside of the US. Please note that while we will promote these as the primary portfolio offerings for HR practitioners outside the United States, existing credentials such as the SPHR and PHR will also still be available for these professionals, if desired.

With the launch of these new credentials, The HR Certification Institute offers a comprehensive portfolio of advanced professional credentials worldwide including the Human Resource Business Professional (HRBP™), Human Resource Management Professional (HRMP™), Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR®), Professional in Human Resources (PHR®),  Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR®) and California designations (PHR-CA® and SPHR-CA®).

These additional credentials elevate the global awareness of the HR Certification Institute and its credentials. As a result, the letters you have earned take on clearer meaning, and increase the value of the credential. As a GPHR, I know this to be the case as I experience the luster from this growing commitment to professional certification by the global HR community.

Registration for the HRBP and HRMP will open on October 29, 2012. The new exams will be administered starting in March 2013 via computer-based testing (CBT) at Prometric exam centers worldwide.

We invite you to share this information with your colleagues worldwide. Please continue to check the Institute website at www.hrci.org for more details and updates in the coming weeks.  Thank you for the continued opportunity to serve you and support your professional success.

    Committed to a higher standard,
