Please join us for the 2011 Celebration of Accomplishments.  We will review the chapter's accomplishments for the year, install the officers for 2012, recognize our members who have achieved a degree or certification, and honor special members and volunteers.

This is also the month for our Silent Auction to benefit the SHRM Foundation.  Pictures and other information may be found on this site under the "More" tab and Silent Auction Preview option.

Members are asked to bring an unopened toy or gift for donation to the Volunteers of America.  Their needs include:

    • Children’s toys – we work with all ages.  Most live in very poor homes and many have been removed from their parent at some point and are back or will be back by Christmas.  These children are typically birth to 15.  We have all ages so people can just enjoy picking out their cutest toy.
    • Teens gifts – we have a teen pregnancy prevention program targeting teens from 12 – 16.  These are high risk children. And we are working hard to help them feel better about themselves and make better decisions. Here we are talking about make-up, cologne, inexpensive jewelry, electronics, and clothing. If someone wants sizes they can call Ashley at our office.
    • Adults – We serve over 50 adults with mental illness.  For most of them, we are their family.  Common gifts for them include socks (male and female all sizes) gloves, scarves, Nice things for their homes.  The women welcome cologne, bath products, and inexpensive jewelry.  The men like cologne, wallets, watches, etc.   Walmart Gift cards are always welcome because they can be used for food, clothing, cleaning products and other necessities.
